| | | | Lighters, Come to me. | |
If you are a smoker you will understand my frustrations. I am tired of not having a lighter to light my smoke. But let me tell you the story behind this. My daughter and I live together now, we got an apartment together, and we both smoke. She had her own lighter and I had mine. But I was always looking for a lighter so I went and bout a pack of six bic lighters. So I thought now we have 8 lighters, no problem, will always find one. But no it doesn't work out that way. I wake up this morning and I am one of those avid smokers that needs a smoke as soon as I open my eyes. I can't smoke in my apartment because it is a no smoking house so I have to go outside to have one. So I find my smokes and take one out of the package and look for a lighter. Well, where are all the fricken lighters, I can't find one anywhere in my house. I can't find any matches either. I am now getting mad. I can't light my smoke on the stove element or the toaster as I can't smoke in my house so I am getting madder by the second because I need a smoke. It is now about 10 minutes after I first pened my eyes and I need that smoke. I open my daughters bedroom door, she's sleeping, and I can't find one there...
| | How do you dispose of empty cigarette lighters? | | A friend of mine told me that he throws his
cigarette lighters in the trash to dispose of them.
And since I don't smoke, I don't have any
knowledge of how others do this.Is it safe to throw a lighter in the trash?
Won't that catch something on fire, assuming
the container is pierced or comes into
contact with fire? What's the safe procedure for disposing
of a lighter or matches? Where do you throw them away? Would that be considered hazardous waste? light my smoke on the stove element or the toaster as I can't smoke in my house so I am getting madder by the second because I need a smoke. It is now about 10 minutes after I first pened my eyes and I need that smoke. I open my daughters bedroom door, she's sleeping, and I can't find one there either. So where are the fricken lighters? Sorry for the language but I was getting very frustrated and just thinking about it now, I still get upset. I eventually just lit it with the toaster. I still can't find a lighter. Where did they all go. Why is it they always dissappear. It's only been about 10 days since we had 8 lighters. Maybe this is trying to tell me to quit...
| | Do you name your lighters? | | Not just lighters but other things like cars and other non living things. I name my lighters by color like Mr White or Mr Green. My car I call Ol' Yeller cause it is old and yellow. My hubby does this too now. Is this just us or do other people name things that are not living? | |
| | children and lighters | | As parents, we don't want our children playing with lighters. As the law, they can't until they are 18. My question is, if we are trying to protect our children from the interest in lighters, then why do they keep coming out with new designs, etc, to attract the attention of the little ones? At my work, they have pumpkin lighters that every child that comes up to my line thinks its a cool keychain and ask their parents if they can have one, I explain to the parent its a lighter and have to show it for some of them to believe me. The eyes light up and it makes a noise, which makes it even more attracting to the younger minds. I think they should stop making lighters attractive and just stick to the same old make like when we were younger. Any suggestions? | |
| | Lighters.... | | How come if you have a cheapy lighter no one will steal it. But if you have a Bic lighter it is gone in less that 2-3 uses. | |
| | For all you smokers, what do you do when you run out of lighters? | | When you are stuck at home, and it's too late to run to the store, and you run out of lighters, what do you do? Do you have a stashed pack of matches?
I don't, but i should.
I ran out of lighters last night, and had to use the stove!:D
It worked fine though, but I'm going to buy some new ones today, so I won't have to turn the stove on just to light a cigarette. So, tell me, what do you do when you run out of cigarette lighters?
Do you just go without a cigarette?
| | I can help you date Zippo and other Vintage Lighters | | I've been collecting cigarette lighters for more than 20 years. In fact at one time I have been a member of as many as 6 lighter collecting clubs at one time, world wide. My husband and I have consulted on several books on the subject and are well know to the older lighter collecting community.
I offer you a free service - show me your lighter and I will help you date it, identify it and perhaps even value it at no charge. Please include a phot with your request. There are several free image hosting sites, such as imageshack, photobucket and auctiva. I am also interested in buying large collections of older lighters that use liquid fluid. I do not collect butane lighters, or lighters made in Japan, Korea, China or Taiwan. Drop in any time to discuss lighter collecting, lighter club memberships, lighter shows, and repair. Thanks for dropping in,The lighter collectorlight my smoke on the stove element or the toaster as I can't smoke in my house so I am getting madder by the second because I need a smoke.
