Pogo Stick
Heard on the news this morning that the pogo stick is celebrating 90 years. I had no clue it was that old! I can recall having one as a kid and I spent hours on the thing bouncing up and down until it made the inside of my feet hurt. It would rub. Maybe that's why I was always so thin..lol Please tell us about any experience you had with a pogo stick? Hopefully no broken bones or bad experiences.
Rollback in Jeepney Fares how about FX fares?
Just this week there was again another rollback of jeepney fares which brings good news for us commuters that ride jeepneys. Although yesterday there was still resistance from the Jeepney drivers but early this morning seems that they already are implementing the lower fare.I am just wondering what about FX and tricycles are they included in this ordinance. It seems they are being neglected from getting a rollback in their fares. It has been twice that the Jeepney has rolled back their fares but the FX doesn't seem to affected by it. I hope that government would look into this as I feel it is not fair at all.
do you ride a tricycle?
i used to, when we were still in bulacan, where the roads are fit for the small vehicle's engine since the directions there are just left and right. but ever since we transferred here in baguio, where the roads not only go left and right but up and down as well[em]lol[/em], i haven't been able to. i miss riding it. i actually liked to ride in the back, since it's stuffy inside when all the seats are full.[em]wink[/em]how about you?[em]happy[/em]
Rain and rain..
Well, to those who have studied there, have you ever experienced being stranded there?I have heard such stories from professors saying that there were times when they spend the night at the building 'cause they couldn't go home due to the flood cause by the rain.Well, my share of experience would be during my freshmen years.I always went to school from our home at Laguna.One time, I went early since it would take at least one and a half hours to get to school but, by the time I arrived, they announced that classes had been suspended.I felt a mix of joy and irritation but mostly joy since I was able to hang out with my classmates for some reason.^_^Well? How about you guys who have studied or just by chance, got stranded there? The school is well known and one of them would be the floods. I'm not saying its a bad thing though.^_^;
how
how many of you have bicycles?
Who remembers these?
Do kids ride tricycles anymore? I don't think so. training wheels have taken their place. Are you old enough to remember having one? I am.
Skinny jeans, not advisable during floods haha
The world is aware of the typhoon ondoy hitting the Philippines, we were not badly hit by the flood, but flood in our area reached up to the knee. I had saturday class, so when i went home, i was surprise no tricycles were available, so i walked home, and the bad thing is, i cant raise my jeans because they are skinny jeans, tight fitting! wahh, i regeretted wearing those jeans that day, i was soaked haha
Clove and other flavored cigarettes
Last Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) enacted a ban on all clove, fruit or candy flavored cigarettes in the U.S. The reason they've given is that it is a "gateway" cigarette for teenagers. Never mind that it is already illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to purchase, possess or smoke cigarettes of any kind. No, the FDA feels they need to slap the hand of law-abiding adults who choose to be consumers of these products. So let's take a look at what other "gateway" products lead to danger for teenagers. I remember many a Friday night with my high school friends where on or all of use were able to obtain a couple of bottles of beer or wine coolers for our gatherings. These are certainly gateway alcohols because they're so much easier to obtain than other spirits. Those should be banned. Marijuana, while still officially illegal, can be obtained by prescription for those who have glaucoma, cancer or any other legitimate reason for using the substance. This is the ORIGINAL gateway drug. Close up shop on Ventura Beach - it's dangerous for teenagers. Driving is also a dangerous activity for teenagers. Just Saturday night, the lives of four young people, all under the...
Do you love where you live right now?
I've been in my place for about 18 years now. I've seen all the changes it took. Before, my place used to flood a lot! Whether it's summer or rainy days, it still flood because of poor drainage. Every time I go to school, there's a boat made up of packed Styrofoam waiting outside our house. On top of the Styrofoam, they put a wooden chair. 4 persons can ride it. There's someone who would push the boat to a higher place where tricycles await us. I really enjoyed my experienced back then. Even if the flood was really dirty and all sort of "you-don't-want-to-know" junks are floating, it's kind of etched in my fond memories. It's like we're having a man-made sea outside of our house.^_^ When our classes were suspended, my brother and I used to make paper boats then let it float in the flood. Then we would fan it out and look who won on the paper boat racing contest. lol! I love where I live, with all the flaws and ickyness of it. Maybe I just learn to appreciate it because of time. Well, I'm not really sure. As long as I enjoy my stay here, then there's no problem right?Fond memories... Fun to reminisce.^_^ How about you? Please share your fond memories of your home... I love to...
